Jack St. Pierre

Acting CEO

Jack St.Pierre, spent 36 years in the plastics career in a variety of management capacities in both manufacturing and sales including stays at Niagara Plastics Company, Liqui-Box Corporation, and Shell Chemical’s Bercon Packaging Division. He started a new plastic bottle company in Somerville, New Jersey for Wedco Technologies in 1983 (now Tri-Delta Technologies) and, in1985, with the assistance of CAN DO Inc., he founded Pocono P.E.T. Inc. in Hazleton, PA, to manufacturer clear polyester packaging for retail, club store and institutional food products and grew the company from 15 to 85 employees, serving as President and CEO. The company was sold in 1998 and operates today as Pretium Packaging in the original Humboldt Industrial Park building which was expanded three times over the past 20 years. He was coaxed out of retirement in 2006 to take over CAN BE, CAN DO, Inc.’s newly established business incubator program. He currently serves on the boards of P.E.T. Realty Co., The Laurels Senior Living Community, Corporate Buyers Guide, the Greater Hazleton Civic Partnership, the Great Valley Technology Alliance, Advanced-Tec Materials and the Castle Auditorium Fund and previously served on the boards of Legacy Bank, the Second Mile, NEPA chapter and Hazleton General Hospital. He did his undergraduate work at Lowell Technological Institute and Gannon College and holds an MBA certification from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University.

Francisco Torres-Aranda, Jr.

President

Mr. Torres has over 10 years experience in engineering research and development and has served as President and CEO of Advanced-Tec since his father’s death. Prior to that time he served as Vice President  assisting his father with his research and development efforts and spearheaded Advanced-Tec’s testing programs with the Penske racing organization. Prior to working at Advanced-Tec, Mr. Torres-Aranda Jr., was the co-founder and served as Vice President of Innovative Ash Applications Corp. This company worked with several power utility companies in order to find beneficial uses for their coal-combustion byproducts. Prior to that period Mr. Torres-Aranda Jr. worked with the US Department of Health and Human Services as a liaison between the immigrant community and various regional health organizations. His research includes the beneficial utilization of coal-combustion byproducts, high-performance racing technology, and astronomy (his research into Quasar formation won an international award and was published in a European science journal.) His educational background includes Pre-Med, Chemistry, Biology, and Engineering.

George M. Mehalshick

Business Development, Security and Fire Doors

Mr. Mehalshick has an electronic engineering degree with over 20 years experience in design and development of electronic controls. As acting president and CEO over the past two decades, Mr. Mehalshick has managed day-to-day operations of several companies, including a multi-division company with 40 employees. In addition to oversight of daily manufacturing and engineering operations, his experience includes establishing and maintaining relationships with state code enforcement officials, as well as with independent and government product compliance organizations to include Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. US, Canadian Underwriters, Inc., and the California State Fire Marshall. Highlights of his career include successfully executing an exit strategy by completing an asset sale of an electronic manufacturing company in 2001. He holds multiple patents in both electronic and mechanical designs and has 20 years entrepreneurial experience. Current and past professional memberships include Construction Specifies Institute, National Fire Protection Association, American Rolling Door Institute and International Door Association. It is through his participation that Advanced-Tec has been able to identify market opportunities for its products in the fire and safety door industry.

Stephen M. Schleicher

Business Development, Medical Applications

Dr. Schleicher brings over twenty years of experience in the field of dermatology. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Rutgers University, received his medical degree with academic honors from the Hahnemann Medical College and completed his dermatology residency at the Temple Skin and Cancer Hospital. The author of two books and over one hundred journal articles, Dr. Schleicher serves on the Editorial Board of the journal Emergency Medicine and for fifteen years served on the Advisory Board of the Day Spa Association. He co-hosts the cable television show, Skin Sense.  Founder and director of the DermDox Center for Dermatology (www.dermdox.org), he has travelled throughout Europe investigating skin care products as a consultant to the health and beauty industries and assembled a dedicated skin care line for the web site Health911.com. In 2010 he addressed both the International Esthetics, Cosmetics and Spa Conference in Las Vegas as well as the World Spa Conference in Brazil. In 2011 he was named a Laureate of the ComputerWorld Honors global initiative for his pioneering work in the field of teledermatology. Dr. Schleicher is a clinical instructor of dermatology at Kings College as well as an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Commonwealth Medical College and an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania Medical College.
